Aldi urgently recalls £12 Dyson hairdryer dupe over 'electric shock risk'
Shoppers urged to stop using £12 Aldi hairdryer immediately amid safety warnings.
Discount supermarket Aldi has issued an urgent recall of its Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer after fears it presents a risk of electric shock and fire.
The recall affects a batch of the budget hairdryer, which was on sale between August and September 2025.
Aldi has warned that the power cord may become damaged, allowing access to live parts or causing overheating.

If users were to touch live parts of the hairdryer, they could receive an electric shock.
The supermarket is urging anyone who purchased the affected models to stop using them immediately and return them to store for a full refund.
The recall applies to the following colours: Black (4061462195075), White (4061462195211), Yellow (4061462195310), and Orange (4061462195372).

These products have been promoted as affordable alternatives to high-end models, such as the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, but Aldi says the affected hairdryers do not meet UK electrical appliance standards.
The newer versions of the hairdryer is set to hit middle aisles this Sunday for just £11.99 each, coming in Black, Berry and Cream designs, but only hairdryers sold last year are impacted by the recall.
Customers can check if their hairdryer is part of the recall by inspecting the underside of the hairdryer, where the middle code will correspond with its specific colour code below.
If this is the case, customers should not use the product and return to the nearest Aldi store where a full refund will be given.
Aldi has said on its website: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
