We’ve recently been lookig at the best pubs and bars in and around Birmingham’s neighbourhoods.
This week, we’ve decided to rank the venues in Erdington.
The historic north Birmingham neighbourhood has many historical attractions and one of the most well-known features in the area is Spaghetti Junction, situated on the southern edge of the district and on the border of Aston and Gravelly Hill.
The former nightclub Mothers on the neighbourhood’s high street also had a big impact on music in the late 1960s, with Pink Floyd recording a live record there, and the likes of Black Sabbath, Elton John and Led Zeppelin all playing there.
There’s also plenty of shops on Erdington’s high street, which is home to many of the suburb’s pubs and bars.
So, here are the 12 pubs and bars of Erdington ranked. We have ranked the pubs based on their overall Google rating and how many reviews the venue received.
1. The New Inn, Summer Road
This traditional and popular community pub has been a popular venue for many years. The pub, which is an important landmark for Birmingham’s Irish Community and Villa fans in Erdington, is a family run pub but is actually up for sale. It has a 4.4 rating from 175 reviews on Google. One read: "Karaoke was great -a pleasent place to be for a night out and lovely bar staff."
2. Rosey Mac's, Gravelly Lane
Another great venue for live sport and live music in the suburb is Rosey Mac's. The pub has a 4.3 google rating from 238 Google reviews. One read: "Friendly atmosphere, good music, fairly priced drinks & bar staff very friendly."
3. The Pheasant Plucker, Orphanage Road
Based in the heart of Erdington high street, The Pheasant Plucker is a nice moddern pub for the neighbourhood. It has karaoke every Friday night and a live DJ every Saturday. It has a 4.3 Google rating from 115 reviews. One read: "Great place, staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome."
4. The Elegant Room, Resevoir Road
The Elegant Room is a small but luxurious bar & restaurant. The venue is also a good choice for private parties. It has a 4.5 rating from 44 Google reviews. One read: "Great staff, amazing food, great service. Lovely venue, a hidden gem. Will definitely be back."
