Birmingham woke up to a snow covered morning and residents took the opportunity to capture the winter snowland that the city became overnight. The city was covered in a thin layer of snow today (January 18) but there’s also sunshine to make it pleasant.
Temperatures are expected to plummet further this week and the cold will persist at least until Saturday. Rain is expected on Sunday and that would bring the mercury up slightly, according the Met Office weather forecast.
So, all the commuters need to be careful and the Met Office advises that you put grit or cat litter on paths and driveways to lessen the risk of slipping on compacted snow. And, avoid travel if possible.
If you must go out, make sure you have warm clothes, food, water, boots, a torch and spade, and let someone know when you expect to arrive and your route.
Meanwhile, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Birmingham from the comfort of your home.
