Paddington Bear UK: Instagram stars Bella and Monty meet Paddington on their latest Birmingham adventure

Rescue dogs Monty and Bella are living the high-life across Birmingham nowadays - but it hasn’t always been so fun.

Margaret Goodman rescued Bella 7 years ago after an awful start to her life being locked in a cage as a puppy farm breeding dog.

Her best friend Monty was adopted 2 years ago after his owners became unable to look after him properly.

The pair of pooches have hit the headlines after their Instagram page took page, reaching more than 12,000 followers. Take a look at their page here.

To celebrate their new lives and mark Bella’s 7th ‘gotcha day’ , they were treated to an overnight stay at Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Margaret said: “It was so special . We rescued Bella 7.5 years ago . She had an awful start to life and had been locked in a cage used as a puppy farm breeding dog . When we rescued her, her tummy was in a state as she had litter after litter. She was shaking as didn’t understand human love or contact and had never lived in a family home . It took her a couple of months to adjust , but once she did it was amazing to see her so happy and confident. She has spent 7 years living her best life.

“We started Instagram for Bella back in lockdown and it just grew and grew. It’s currently at 12,500 followers . We use Instagram to highlight the importance of rescue dogs and show what an amazing “rags to riches “ life they can lead with lots of love and patience . 

“Bella attended Crufts last year alongside Birmingham dogs home to represent rescue dogs.”

While they were in Birmingham at the weekend, they popped along to say ‘hello’ to the new Paddington Bear statue at Selfridges.
