When does Freshers’ Week start? Here are 2023’s freshers week start dates for Birmingham universities

Universities across the country, including in Birmingham, will welcome new students during freshers week. It’s a time to settle in and get to know your flatmates, your surroundings, and the city at large. Universities will have several events planned on campus to welcome the new joinees - who are set to travel from all over the world.

There will be many more events outside of universities to encourage students to acquaint themselves with Birmingham. Some Birmingham residents have shared advice for the incoming students. Some suggested exploring the different trendy neighbourhoods of Birmingham, while others recommended enjoying the city’s nightlife.

What is Freshers Week?

This is a welcome period for the people starting at university. People can meet new friends, settle into their new homes and campus life before classes begin.

When are Birmingham Universities hosting their Freshers Week?

University of Birmingham

University of Birmingham will have a welcome fair on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, 10:00-16:00, and Monday 18 September, 10:00-17:00, in Great Hall, Aston Webb.You can meet teams from across the University, and find out useful information about the services and support you can access here as a student.

University College Birmingham

For UCB, accommodation move-in weekend is on September 2, 2023 and enrolment takes place between 18 September 2023 - 22 September 2023. Birmingham City University
