The Bullring shopping centre also joined in on the fun, sharing the drawing on its Instagram account alongside a real-life picture of the iconic sites with a jokey reference to one of her most famous songs, writing, "Sketch me baby one more time!"

Despite the excitement and speculation, Spears has not confirmed that the sketch is of Birmingham’s iconic buildings. However, fans are enjoying the idea of the singer taking creative inspiration from the UK city.

Whether or not Britney Spears is a secret Brummie remains a mystery, but one thing is for sure - her sketch has certainly put Birmingham’s landmarks in the global spotlight.
