Twycross Zoo has two new kids on the block (and they're already vying for G.O.A.T. status)

Greatest Of All Time? These kids are already stealing hearts and the spotlight.

A new duo has arrived at Twycross Zoo, and they are bleating cute. Two baby pygmy goats, one boy born on 11th July and one girl born on the 21st July, are now charming visitors in the walk-through goat habitat, part of the zoo’s Gruffalo Discovery Land.

But there’s one thing they’re missing: names.

In true superstar style, these kids aren’t just here to be admired, they need names worthy of their GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) status. Think Serena and Venus. Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Batman and Robin. Or something with a cheeky twist, like Vincent Van Goat and Billy the Kid.

Twycross Zoo is inviting the public to submit their favourite iconic duos as name suggestions from Tuesday, 12th August, with entries closing at midnight on Sunday, 31st August, giving visitors just under three weeks to get creative before the keepers choose the winning pair.

Entries can be submitted online at twycrosszoo.org/iconic-goat-duo-naming-competition.

And if bragging rights aren’t enough, the lucky winner will receive an exclusive Meet the Goats experience - a behind-the-scenes visit with the keepers and VIP time with the zoo’s newest stars.

“These two are already full of character. Climbing everything, confidently exploring the walkthrough, and generally being the cutest duo in the zoo right now,” said Yianna Cooling, Mammal Curator at Twycross Zoo “We can’t wait for visitors to help us name them!”

Small in size but mighty in charm, baby goats are full of surprises from the moment they are born. They can stand and walk within minutes, they have rectangular pupils to help spot predators from the corners of their eyes, and fun fact: their bleats even have regional accents. Ay up!

And while you’re stopping by to meet the new arrivals, there’s plenty more to explore. From spotting Mr. Monopoly on the zoo’s summer trail and cooling off in the splash-tastic Wet & Wild play zone, to stepping into The Gruffalo story or taking home a limited-edition Twycross Zoo Monopoly board game from the gift shop, it’s a full day of fun. Even better? Every general admission ticket automatically turns into a free annual pass, giving you unlimited free return visits for 12 whole months.
