An opticians in Erdington has partnered with the St Barnabas Churchyard Working Group, a community development project which aims to transform the churchyard into a safe and tranquil space and a haven for wildlife.

The team at Specsavers on the High Street made a donation to provide hi vis vests for volunteers involved with the project to wear as they spruce up the grounds of St Barnabas Church Centre.

Manjit Sidhu, store director at Specsavers Erdington, says, ‘St Barnabas is one of our neighbours on the High Street and we’re really pleased to be supporting their churchyard project, which will provide the community with a peaceful space to enjoy and a place for nature to thrive.

‘Looking after our community is really important to us, and the hi vis vests will help to ensure that volunteers stay safe as the days get shorter. This goes hand in hand with our aim, which is to improve vision and visibility.’

‘We’re delighted with the donation from the team at Specsavers, with the hi vis vests helping our volunteers to stay safe during the winter months,’ says Stephen Spencer, operations manager at St Barnabas Church Centre. ‘The churchyard project aims to provide a space that connects the community, improves wellbeing and attracts wildlife, and we’re really grateful to Specsavers for their support in bringing this vision to life.’
