Les Ross makes a triumphant return to Birmingham airwaves

BRMB returned to the city’s airwaves last year following an 11-year break and now broadcasts across the city on DAB, 89.1FM and online.
September 4 marks the first anniversary of BRMB’s return and Les can be heard on the breakfast show from 7am. He will then return full time to the station at the end of September with his brand-new show Les Ross in the Morning.

Hide AdLes hosted the Breakfast Show on the original BRMB from 1976 for over 20 years. He won numerous awards, including the Variety Club Independent Radio Personality of the Year Award in 1985 and a Sony Award in 1989 for the UK’s best Breakfast Show and another for his Outstanding Contribution to Radio in 1997.


In 1996 he was awarded an MBE for his services to radio broadcasting.
Les said: “I’ve finished cutting the back lawn for the summer and need something to do in the mornings.
“I can’t wait to reconnect with the listeners and bring some fun and energy back to their mornings on BRMB.”

Hide AdPaul Ellery, who revived BRMB last year with Muff Murfin, has been working to bring Les to the station, he says: “Les Ross is an integral part of BRMB’s history, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him back where he belongs, I can’t wait for him to get us out of bed!”
Les Ross in the Morning can be heard on BRMB from the end of September, Monday to Friday, starting at 7am across the city on DAB, 89.1FM and online at www.brmbradio.com.
