Local radio legend Les Ross will be making a triumphant return to the Birmingham airwaves with a brand-new show on BRMB, 22 years after he initially left the station.

BRMB returned to the city’s airwaves last year following an 11-year break and now broadcasts across the city on DAB, 89.1FM and online.

September 4 marks the first anniversary of BRMB’s return and Les can be heard on the breakfast show from 7am. He will then return full time to the station at the end of September with his brand-new show Les Ross in the Morning.

In 1996 he was awarded an MBE for his services to radio broadcasting.

Les said: “I’ve finished cutting the back lawn for the summer and need something to do in the mornings.

“I can’t wait to reconnect with the listeners and bring some fun and energy back to their mornings on BRMB.”

Paul Ellery, who revived BRMB last year with Muff Murfin, has been working to bring Les to the station, he says: “Les Ross is an integral part of BRMB’s history, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him back where he belongs, I can’t wait for him to get us out of bed!”

Les Ross in the Morning can be heard on BRMB from the end of September, Monday to Friday, starting at 7am across the city on DAB, 89.1FM and online at www.brmbradio.com.
