Previously he worked at the The Derry Journal Newspapers Group in Northern Ireland where he covered news, lifestyle and sport for its Sunday edition, The Sunday Journal.

Several years later he was elevated into a senior news reporter role with The Derry Journal where his work mainly focused on hard and breaking news.
