Solihull road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Solihull's motorists will have 15 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A46, from 9.30am March 28 to 4pm September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound, stoneleigh junction, lane closure and temporary speed limit for new bridge construction.

A46, from midnight, August 16 2021 to 11.59pm September 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound, exit slip at Stoneleigh Road junction, Lane closure on slip and No right turn restriction onto Stoneleigh Road for major scheme works on Stoneleigh Road.

A46, from 11.59pm April 15 2021 to 11.59pm September 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 at Stoneleigh northbound and southbound, 24hr lane closures for, junction improvement scheme.

A46, from midnight, January 4 to 6am November 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, stoneleigh, short duration mobile working for narrow lanes TM maintenance using IPV and TM vehicle.

A46, from 6am September 7 2021 to 11.59pm November 25 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, Stoneleigh, Narrow lanes and speed restriction for construction of new bridge.

A45, from 9pm August 23 2021 to 5am July 26 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 9 to M6 northbound, link road, Lane closure and link road closure for HS2 scheme work.

M42, from midnight, January 31 2022 to 11.59pm January 31 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42, junction 5 to junction 7, northbound and southbound, various lane closures and slip road closures with temporary speed limits for new underpass construction.

A446, from 9.30pm September 21 2020 to 6am July 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 4a to M42, junction 9 northbound and southbound, lane and carriageway closures for construction of overbridge for HS2.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

A46, from 11pm August 1 to 6am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 southbound, Stivichal to Stoneleigh, Lane closure for verge works with 50 Mph speed limits.

M42, from 11pm August 1 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, jct four to jct 6, lane closures on main carriageway and jct five entry slip road for technology repairs.

M6, from midnight, August 15 2022 to 6am July 15 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 4A to 4 southbound and junction 4 south exit slip, Advanced signage and 50 mph speed limit for lane closure on slip road for bridge construction works for HS2.

A446, from 8am August 15 to 6pm August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A446 northbound, from Packington Lane to Biddles loop, Lane closure for concrete slab and works access.

M40, from 8pm August 15 to 6am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound and southbound, M42, junction 3 to M42, junction 5, Lane closure Switching for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

M6, from 9pm August 15 to 5am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 3A onto the M42 northbound, J9, lane closures with lane switching for drainage works.

M6, from 9pm August 15 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 4 to junction 5, M6 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4, Lane closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
