Solihull road closures: dozens of for motorists to avoid this week

Solihull's motorists will have 26 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 14 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M6, from 9pm June 13 to 6am June 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4 , Lane closure for drainage.

• A446, from 9pm June 16 to 6am June 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 4 southbound, entry slip road and junction 4 roundabout, closure of, junction 4 southbound, entry slip road and various lane closures at, junction 4 roundabout, diversion via M6 northbound, turnaround at, junction 5 and return to M6 southbound.

• A46, from midnight, January 4 to 6am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, stoneleigh, short duration mobile working for narrow lanes TM maintenance using IPV and TM vehicle.

• A46, from 6am September 7 2021 to 11.59pm June 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, Stoneleigh, Narrow lanes and speed restriction for construction of new bridge.

• A46, from 9.30am March 28 to 4pm July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound, stoneleigh junction, lane closure and temporary speed limit for new bridge construction.

• M42, from 9pm June 11 to 6am July 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 7 to junction 8, Lane closures leading to carriageway closures for carriageway resurfacing.

• M6, from 9pm June 19 to 6am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 4 to junction 6, Lane closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

• M40, from 8am June 6 to 6am July 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound and southbound, M42, junction 3 to M40, junction 16, Lane closure Switching for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• A46, from 11.59pm April 15 2021 to 11.59pm September 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 at Stoneleigh northbound and southbound, 24hr lane closures for, junction improvement scheme.

• A46, from midnight, August 16 2021 to 11.59pm September 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound, exit slip at Stoneleigh Road junction, Lane closure on slip and No right turn restriction onto Stoneleigh Road for major scheme works on Stoneleigh Road.

• M42, from 9pm March 14 2022 to 6am April 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 4 to junction 5, 24 hour narrow lanes and speed restrictions for technology works.

• A45, from 9pm August 23 2021 to 5am August 9 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 9 to M6 northbound, link road, Lane closure and link road closure for HS2 scheme work.

• M42, from midnight, January 31 2022 to 11.59pm January 31 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42, junction 5 to junction 7, northbound and southbound, various lane closures and slip road closures with temporary speed limits for new underpass construction.

• A446, from 9.30pm September 21 2020 to 6am July 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 4a to M42, junction 9 northbound and southbound, lane and carriageway closures for construction of overbridge for HS2.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M6, from 8pm June 20 to 6am July 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 3 to junction 4, Lane closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

• A45, from 9pm June 20 to 6am June 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A45 M42, junction 6 roundabout, Lane closures for utility works on behalf of Cadent Gas.

• M42, from 9pm June 21 to 6am June 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 6 to M42, junction 7, Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M42, from 10pm June 21 to 6am June 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 4 to junction 6 and junction 5 northbound, entry slip road, lane closures on main carriageway and on slip road for technology repair works.

• M42, from 9pm June 22 to 6am June 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 4 to junction 6, lane closures for carriageway repairs.

• M40, from 9pm June 27 to 6am June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3A/M40, junction 16, Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M42, from 9pm June 27 to 6am June 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3A, lane closures with, junction 4 entry slip total closure, for carriageway/resurfacing repairs.

• A446, from 8am June 28 to 6pm July 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A446 northbound, bickenhil lane to A452 overbridge, lane closure for concrete slab works.

• M6, from 9pm June 28 to 6am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 4 to junction 3, Lane closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M42, from 8pm July 1 to 5am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 7 to junction 6, Lane closure for communications.

• M6, from 9pm July 3 to 6am July 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 4 to junction 6, Lane closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

• A446, from 9pm July 4 to 6am July 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, Total closure, junction 4 to junction 6 including M42 Links onto the M6 northbound, Lane and carriageway closures for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
