And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 19 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A446, from 9pm August 16 to 6am August 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 4 to junction 6 including M42 Links onto the M6 northbound and southbound, Lane and carriageway closures for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

M6, from 9pm August 16 to 6am August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 4 to junction 5, Lane closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

A45, from 9.30am August 22 to 3.30pm September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 Stonebridge roundabout and approaches various lane closures, for survey works on behalf of HS2.

M42, from 9pm August 22 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 southbound, junction seven to, junction 6, carriageway closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

A446, from 8am August 22 to 6pm September 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A446 northbound, from middle bickenhill lane to A452 overbridge, 24 hour lane closure for HS2 bridge works.

M6, from midnight, August 15 2022 to 6am July 15 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 4A to 4 southbound and junction 4 south exit slip, lane closure for bridge construction works for HS2.

M42, from 9pm August 31 to 6am September 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 southbound, jct five to jct 4, lane closures for technology works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
