Road closures: almost two dozen for Solihull drivers this week

Drivers in and around Solihull will have 20 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Solihull will have 20 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A45, from 9.30am January 3 to 3.30pm January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 eastbound to the M42, junction 6 stonebridge island, Lane closure for grass and tree cutting works in, relation to HS2.

A46, from 11.59pm April 15 2021 to 11.59pm March 3 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 at Stoneleigh northbound and southbound, 24hr lane closures for, junction improvement scheme.

A45, from 9.30pm November 26 2021 to 5.30am March 28 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A45 westbound, Stonebridge to M42, junction 6, Lane closure leading to off network carriageway closure for construction of new carriageway.

A46, from midnight, August 16 2021 to 11.59pm March 28 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound, exit slip at Stoneleigh Road junction, Lane closure on slip and No right turn restriction onto Stoneleigh Road for major scheme works on Stoneleigh Road.

A46, from 6am September 7 2021 to 11.59pm June 30 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, Stoneleigh, Narrow lanes and speed restriction for construction of new bridge.

M42, from 8pm July 24 2021 to 5am July 29 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound and southbound, junction 6 to 7, lane closures for bridge survey works.

A45, from 9pm August 23 2021 to 5am August 9 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 9 to M6 northbound, link road, Lane closure and link road closure for HS2 scheme work.

A446, from 9.30pm September 21 2020 to 6am July 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 4a to M42, junction 9 northbound and southbound, lane and carriageway closures for construction of overbridge for HS2.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

A46, from midnight, January 4 to 6am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, stoneleigh, short duration mobile working for narrow lanes TM maintenance using IPV and TM vehicle.

A46, from 9.30am January 4 to 3.30pm January 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 northbound, at stoneleigh junction, lane closure for safe verge working.

M6, from 9pm January 4 to 5.30am January 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 3 to junction 4, lane closures for cctv camera works.

A446, from 9.30am January 5 to 3.30pm January 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A452 southbound, Packington Lane to Stonebridge Island, Lane closure for survey works for HS2.

A446, from 8pm January 7 to 6am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A446 from M6, junction 4 to A452 Birmingham Business Park roundabout southbound, via Biddles loop, 24/7 Lane closure for off network closure for New road installation for HS2.

M42, from 9pm January 7 2022 to 6am April 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 4 to junction 5, 24 hour narrow lanes and speed restrictions for technology works.

A46, from midnight, January 8 2022 to 6am December 1 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A46 from Leamington Road to Festival Island northbound and southbound, Contraflow with speed restriction in place for Viaduct Bridge Beams installation works for major Scheme.

M42, from 10pm January 8 to 6am January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 southbound, junction 4 to 3A, Lane closure for Technology repairs.

M42, from 9pm January 10 to 5am January 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 from, junction 6 to junction 7 northbound and southbound, including M6, junction 4 link road, Lane closures for works relating to HS2.

M42, from 10pm January 10 to 6am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, lane closures for technology repairs.

M6, from 9pm January 11 to 6am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A452 northbound and southbound, castle bromwich interchange to spitfire island - lane closure for inspection/survey.

A45, from 9pm January 17 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M42 northbound, junction 5 to 7 and junction 6 northbound, entry slip, Lane closure and slip road closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade site clearance works/.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
