Sandwell road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Sandwell's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Sandwell's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M6, from 9pm May 9 to 6am May 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 9 to junction 6 including M5 northbound to M6 southbound, link road, lane closures for construction improvement/upgrade.

M5, from 9pm May 9 to 6am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions jct five to jct nine and M5 northbound, jct one to M6 jct eight, lane closure for construction improvement works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm May 15 to 6am May 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 7 to junction 6, carriageway closure for cctv installation.

M6, from 9pm May 16 to 6am May 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, from M6 northbound, jct eight to M5 link road, Lane and carriageway closures for drainage works.

M5, from 8pm May 19 to 5am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, jct one to jct two including J2 exit slip, lane closure for communications works.

A4123, from 9pm May 21 to 6am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 both directions jct six to jct 8, Lane and carriageway closures for installation of narrow lane.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
