Sandwell road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Sandwell's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

• A4123, from 9.30pm May 2 to 5am May 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 clockwise, junction 2 roundabout, lane closure for communications repairs to traffic signal.

• M5, from 9pm May 3 to 6am May 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 2 to junction 3, lane closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

• M5, from 9pm May 4 to 6am May 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, jct two to jct 3, Lane and carriageway closures for gantry inspections.

• M5, from 9.30pm May 4 to 5am May 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, jct one between exit and entry slip roads, Lane and carriageway closure for communications loop replacement.

• M6, from 9pm May 9 to 6am May 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 9 to junction 6 including M5 northbound to M6 southbound, link road, lane closures for construction improvement/upgrade.

• M5, from 9pm May 15 to 6am May 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 7 to junction 6, carriageway closure for cctv installation.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
