Sandwell road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Sandwell's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

• M5, from 9pm April 24 to 6am April 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, jct four to jct two, lane closure for barrier safety repairs.

• M6, from 9pm April 25 to 6am April 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, jct nine entry slip road, Lane and slip road carriageway closure for technology works.

• A4123, from 9.30pm May 2 to 5am May 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 clockwise, junction 2 roundabout, lane closure for communications repairs to traffic signal.

• M5, from 9pm May 3 to 6am May 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 2 to junction 3, lane closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

• M5, from 9.30pm May 4 to 5am May 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, jct one between exit and entry slip roads, Lane and carriageway closure for communications loop replacement.

• M5, from 9.30pm May 5 to 5am May 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 3 to junction 2, lane closure switching for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
