Sandwell's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Sandwell's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A4123, from 9pm September 16 to 6am September 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, jct three to jct 2, carriageway closure for resurfacing works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, jct one to M6 southbound, jct eight link road, carriageway closure for inspection/survey works.

A4123, from 9pm September 18 to 6am October 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions M6, junction 8 to M5, junction 3, lane closure switching for horticulture (cutting and planting) and litter picking.

A4123, from 9pm September 20 to 6am September 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, jct two entry slip road, carriageway closure for gantry works.

M5, from 9pm September 23 to 6am September 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, jct seven to jct 10, carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.

M6, from 9pm September 28 to 5am September 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 7 to junction 9, rolling block for inspection works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
