Sandwell road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Sandwell's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A456, from 9pm December 16 to 5am December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2, slip road and lane closure for communication works.

• M6, from 9pm December 17 to 6am December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 8 to junction 10A, Lane closure for inspection/survey works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M6, from 9pm December 18 to 5am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 8 to junction 7, Lane closure for maintenance works.

• M6, from 11pm December 22 to 6am December 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
