Sandwell road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Sandwell's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M5, from 9pm August 14 to 6am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, jct eight to jct six and jct seven southbound, entry slip road, slip road carriageway closure and lane closures with single lane running for drainage works.

• M5, from 9pm August 17 to 6am August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, jct three to jct 2, lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M5, from 9pm August 17 to 6am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, M6, junction 9 to M5, junction 1, carriageway closure for barriers - permanent.

• M5, from 9pm August 21 to 6am September 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, link from M6 northbound, jct 8, and M6 northbound, jct seven entry slip road, Lane closures, slip and link road carriageway closures road marking works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
