Sandwell road closures: eight for motorists to avoid this week

Sandwell's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 9pm February 14 to 6am March 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 10 to 7 including entry and exit slips, carriageway and slip roads closures for resurfacing and upgrading of technology and signage works.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 9pm March 14 to 5am March 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 1 to M6, junction eight and M6 southbound, junction 8 to M5 southbound, junction 1 - Lane closure for drainage works.

• M6, from 9pm March 15 to 6am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 7 Lane closure onto M5 link with M6 Link.

• M5, from 9pm March 16 to 6am March 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 2 to junction 3 - Lane closure to repair Potholes.

• A4123, from 9pm March 17 to 6am March 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 2 to junction 3, lane closures with closure of, junction 3 entry slip road for electrical lamp column repairs.

• M5, from 10pm March 19 to 6am April 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, from, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure northbound and lane closure southbound, for bridge repair works.

• M6, from 10pm March 23 to 6am April 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 7, northbound and southbound, lane closure and slip road closures for street lighting repairs and replacements.

• M5, from 10pm March 26 to 6am April 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, from, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure southbound and lane closure northbound, for bridge repair works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
