Sandwell's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Sandwell's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 9pm July 30 to 6am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 8 to jct nine, carriageway closure for carriageway repairs.

A4123, from 8pm July 24 to 6am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 borth directions jct one to jct 3, Lane and carriageway closures for signage upgrades.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M6, from 9pm July 31 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions jct seven to jct 9, lane closures for barrier/fence safety repairs.

M5, from 9pm August 1 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions jct one to M6 jct 9, lane closures for barrier/fence safety repairs.

M5, from 9pm August 3 to 6am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions jct three to jct 2, lane closures for barrier safety repairs.

A4123, from 9pm August 3 to 6am August 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, jct one to jct 2, carriageway closure and lane closures for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works.

M6, from 9pm August 12 to 6am August 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 8 to junction 9, lane closures for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.

M5, from 9pm August 14 to 6am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, jct eight to jct six and jct seven southbound, entry slip road, slip road carriageway closure and lane closures with single lane running for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
