Road closures: six for Sandwell drivers this week

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 10pm March 19 to 6am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, from, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure northbound and lane closure southbound, for bridge repair works.

M6, from 10pm March 23 to 6am April 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 7, northbound and southbound, lane closure and slip road closures for street lighting repairs and replacements.

M5, from 10pm March 26 to 6am April 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, from, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure southbound and lane closure northbound, for bridge repair works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M6, from 9pm April 4 to 6am April 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 8 to junction 10 - Lane closures with single lane running for inspection/survey.

M5, from 9pm April 6 to 6am April 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 1, lane closures on entry slip road and on all approaches to the roundabout for electrical signage repair.

M6, from 9pm April 8 to 6am April 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound to M5 southbound, junction 9 to junction 8, lane closures for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
