Road closures: four for Sandwell drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Sandwell will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Sandwell will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause major delays – with motorists facing a wait of at least 30 minutes. Another will cause moderate delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M6, from 9pm January 14 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 7 to junction 8, Lane closure for maintenance works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A4123, from 9pm January 17 to 6am January 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 3, exit slip road closure for litter clearance works, diversion via National Highways network.

A4123, from 9pm January 22 to 6am January 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 2, Lane closures for survey works.

M5, from 10pm January 22 2024 to 5am January 7 2025, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 7 to junction 10, carriageway and slip road closures for carriageway resurfacing, diversion route via National Highways and local authority network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
