Road closures: almost a dozen for Sandwell drivers this week

Drivers in and around Sandwell will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A38, from 9pm October 25 to 6am November 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions M6 jct eight to the M5 jct 5, Lane closures switching for maintenance repairs.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 9pm November 9 to 6am November 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, jct three to jct 2, lane closure for sound fence repair.

• M5, from 9pm November 9 to 6am November 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, jct six to jct seven and M6 northbound, jct seven exit slip road, Lane closure and slip road carriageway closure for drainage inspect works.

• M6, from 9pm November 9 to 6am November 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, jct six to jct seven, lane closures for inspections.

• M5, from 9pm November 10 to 6am November 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, jct six to jct seven, lane closure and closure of jct seven exit slip road for drainage surveys.

• M6, from 9pm November 12 to 6am November 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, jct one eastern arm link road to M6 southbound, jct seven, lane closure for drainage works.

• M6, from 9pm November 13 to 6am November 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, link road to M6 southbound, jct seven, lane closure for drainage inspection works.

• M6, from 9pm November 14 to 6am November 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions jct nine to jct 6, lane closures for communication works.

• M6, from 9pm November 15 to 6am November 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, jct eight to jct 8, Lane closure for technology works.

• M5, from 9pm November 17 to 6am November 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 0 to, junction 2, lane closure for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
