The most incredible moment of my Life: Sam Fender notices my sign and grants my wish at Birmingham gig

A Sam Fender concert at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena turned into the experience of a lifetime for one lucky fan, Toby Prescott, who not only got to meet his musical hero but also performed on stage with him in front of thousands.
The incredible moment began after 18-year-old Toby queued for six hours to secure a prime spot in the crowd. Armed with a handmade sign reading, “Please can I play The Borders?” Toby’s determination paid off in a way he never imagined.

Though venue staff confiscated his original sign, Toby refused to let that deter him. He crafted a replacement using cardboard from the information desk and a Sharpie lent to him by a fellow fan.
As Sam Fender delivered a powerful set, including hits like Dead Boys and Getting Started, Toby held his sign aloft. To his astonishment, Sam noticed it. What happened next sent waves of excitement through the audience.
“He invited me on stage, gave me a hug, and asked for my name,” Toby recounted. “Then he announced, ‘Give it up for Toby, everyone!’ and the crowd started chanting my name. It was surreal.”
