McDonald's plans a new restaurant in Stirchley with significant local impact, inviting public feedback until November 26.

McDonald’s has announced plans for a new restaurant at a key gateway location in Stirchley, situated off Pershore Road, on land next to a local supermarket.

A public consultation has just been launched and will run until Tuesday, November 26 inviting residents to have their say on the plans, prior to the submission of a planning application to Birmingham City Council.

If approved, the plans will deliver a new McDonald’s restaurant and drive-thru with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as 32 general car parking spaces, including two accessible bays and two with electric vehicle charging points. An additional two grill bays allow

McDonalds staff to deliver food to cars, and three additional spaces are reserved specifically for couriers.

The plans would provide a significant economic boost to the local area, creating up to 100 new jobs across a range of full and part-time positions and generating around £45,000 in business rates every year, which can be used by Birmingham City Council to fund key services.

Emma Fisher, senior acquisitions surveyor, said: “We are excited by this opportunity to transform a vacant site into a new, modern McDonald’s restaurant, helping to enhance food choices for residents.

“The creation of a new restaurant will also deliver significant job opportunities for local people and provide welcomed investment into Stirchley’s economy.

“We are committed to working closely with the local community ahead of submitting a planning application to Birmingham Council. I would therefore encourage local people with an interest in the scheme to take part in our public consultation and share their views about our proposals with us directly.”
