The best and worst things about living in Edgbaston in Birmingham, according to locals
and live on Freeview channel 276
I'm here in Edgbaston, a surburb adjacent to Birmingham city centre. It's an attractive area here in the city. I thought I'd come along to speak to a few people and find out what they like and dislike about the area and what life is like living here.
David says: “Well I think Edgbaston is definitely up and coming especially with the new Edgbaston Village where we are. This is relatively new from what I understand. It's got a lot of new businesses coming up which are really boosting interest in the area.

There's a lot of boosts going on in the economic in the educational sector I think there's a lot of kind of private schools as well as public schools around here so there's a lot kind of invested in the future generations and I think it's you know I'm quite new to the area I've only been here for a little while but it's it's up and coming. I think it's quite residential mostly but I do quite like it.”
Amayo says: “Edgbaston is lovely to be honest. You've got the village which has a variety of things and you've got Morrisons. You've got the Botanical Gardens, you've got everything around you so it's a really nice place to live and if I was doing very well I would love to have a house here! But well, that's how it is - but let's see what the future holds. To be honest it's safe, it's always clean, always tidy and lovely people, lovely facilities.”
Alex says: “There's a few really lovely little nuggets, little pockets, here but I think it's not the first place that would spring to your mind in terms of town as to to come out to choose to come out to you I've been to a few nice places here but yeah slightly lower footfall a little bit more spread out
Temi says: “Edgbaston is a really lovely area aside the serenity it's really close to the city centre which is a good thing access to good transportation like I use the tram if I'm going to the city centre so it's really amazing and besides the I feel like there's a lot more security in this area we do not get to hear a lot of crime issues going on in Edgbaston village so it's really amazing.”
