Road closures: six for Birmingham drivers this week

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M6, from 9pm May 23 to 6am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 from, junction 6 to junction 5 southbound, lane closure leading to link road closure for bridge repair works.

M6, from 9pm September 18 2019 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 6 BC link road, 24 hour hatched area for bridge repairs.

A5, from 9pm December 8 2021 to 5.30am September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 westbound, hints bypass between the A453 and A38 junctions, (tamworth to lichfield), temporary speed, lane closures with switching and narrow lanes running for general construction works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

A4123, from 9pm June 8 to 5am June 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5, junction 1 North Bound and South Bound exit Slip, Total closures for drainage.

A456, from 10pm June 10 to 4am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 3 roundabout, Lane closures on island under police road blocks for lighting repairs.

M5, from 9pm June 13 to 6am June 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 7 northbound and southbound, full exit slip closures for local authority works on behalf of Sandwell.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
