New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Birmingham’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Mr Wang Hotpot, at 25 Essex Street, Birmingham was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on September 20.

And Small Heath Surf and Talk, at 475a Coventry Road, Nechells, Birmingham was given a score of one on September 20.

It means that of Birmingham's 1,678 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 987 (59%) have ratings of five and just 24 have zero ratings.
