A Birmingham takeaway has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Village Desserts, a takeaway at 130 Lea Village, Birmingham was given the maximum score after assessment on January 31, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Birmingham's 892 takeaways with ratings, 330 (37%) have ratings of five and 26 have zero ratings.
