Birmingham's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A38(M), from 8.45am November 29 to 6am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38M Tyburn Road, Utility works (Emergency) on behalf of Cadent Gas.

M6, from 9pm September 18 2019 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 6 BC link road, 24 hour hatched area for bridge repairs.

A5, from 9pm December 8 2021 to 5.30am September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 westbound, hints bypass between the A453 and A38 junctions, (tamworth to lichfield), temporary speed, lane closures with switching and narrow lanes running for general construction works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm December 5 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions jct one to jct 5, lane closures with switching for maintenance work.

M6, from 9pm December 5 to 6am December 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, jct six to jct five, lane closures with closures of out of city C-A entry link road to M6 southbound, for comms and street lighting works.

M6, from 9.30pm December 5 to 2.30pm December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, jct six to jct 6, lane closures for inspection/survey.

M6, from 9pm December 19 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, jct five to jct six, lane closure for barriers repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
