Birmingham road closures: seven for motorists to avoid this week

Birmingham's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M42, from 9pm October 10 to 6am October 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, jct four to jct five, lane closures with narrow lanes and single lane running for White Lining/Road Markings.

M6, from 9pm September 18 2019 to 6am December 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 6 BC link road, 24 hour hatched area for bridge repairs.

A5, from 9pm December 8 2021 to 5.30am September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 westbound, hints bypass between the A453 and A38 junctions, (tamworth to lichfield), temporary speed, lane closures with switching and narrow lanes running for general construction works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

A38, from 9pm October 25 to 6am November 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions M6 jct eight to the M5 jct 5, Lane closures switching for maintenance repairs.

M6, from 5am to 8am on October 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, jct six exit slip to Salford Circus, lane closure for street lighting repairs.

M6, from 9pm October 31 to 6am November 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, jct eight to jct 7, M5 Eastern Arm northbound to M6 southbound and jct seven southbound, exit slip road, lane and slip road closures for inspection/survey works.

A446, from 11pm October 31 to 6am November 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 5 to jc six and A38M out of city to M6 northbound, slip road, lane and slip road closures for inspection/survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
