Birmingham's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Birmingham's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A5, from 9pm December 8 2021 to 5.30am September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 westbound, hints bypass between the A453 and A38 junctions, (tamworth to lichfield), temporary speed, lane closures with switching and narrow lanes running for general construction works.

M6, from 9pm September 18 2019 to 6am December 31 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6, junction 6 BC link road, 24 hour hatched area for bridge repairs.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

A38(M), from 9pm February 6 to 6am February 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 both directions onto A38M into and out of City, lane and carriageway closures for carriageway repairs.

M5, from 9pm February 7 to 5am February 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, jct two to jct one, lane closure for sign repairs.

A4123, from 8pm February 9 to 5am February 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3, lane closures for technology repairs.

M6, from 9pm February 10 to 6am February 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, Salford Circus to M6 southbound, jct 6, Lane and slip road carriageway closure for carriageway resurfacing.

M6, from 9pm February 13 to 6am February 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 8 to junction 6 and M5 northbound, link to M6 southbound, lane closures for inspection and survey.

M6, from 8pm February 20 to 5am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, jct six to jct 7, hard shoulder closure for technology works.

M6, from 11pm February 20 to 6am March 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 southbound, jct six to jct five, carriageway closure for resurfacing works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
