Birmingham is a city full of energy, from its buzzing nightlife and lively festivals to passionate Blues and Villa fans filling the pubs on match day.
But while many love the fast pace of city life, there are plenty of neighbourhoods that offer a more peaceful retreat.
We asked BirminghamWorld readers to share their thoughts on the quietest areas to live in, and several neighbourhoods stood out. Sutton Coldfield, with its beautiful parks and green spaces, is a favourite for those seeking tranquillity.
Harborne, known for its charming village feel and leafy streets, offers a relaxed atmosphere while still being close to the city centre.
Bournville, famous for its connection to Cadbury, is another top pick, boasting picturesque streets and a strong sense of community.
For those looking to escape the city’s hustle and bustle, these neighbourhoods offer a peaceful haven without sacrificing the convenience of urban living.

The business was developed further by his two sons and they went on to build the garden village of Bournville. The Cadbury family were famously Quakers and this influenced their business practices with no alcohol being sold in Bournville. | Getty Images
