Waitrose Birmingham: Beloved Hall Green Waitrose to close doors in a matter of days

After over 50 years of service, a long-standing supermarket in Hall Green, Birmingham, will close down on Monday, January 13.

The Waitrose store in Hall Green, Birmingham, is set to close its doors after 50 years of service next week.

The announcement left many residents and loyal customers saddened with a petition launched to try to save it.

However, their efforts proved fruitless and the store will close on Monday.

It is expected that residents and staff will gather at 4pm to mark the sad occasion for the community.

The Waitrose store on Stratford Road first opened its doors in 1971 and has since been a staple in the Hall Green community.

The closure of the Stratford Road store means there will be only three Waitrose supermarkets left in Birmingham in Harborne, Streetly and Hopwood Park services.
