Wicked is coming to Birmingham! Here’s how you can get tickets to see the newly announced UK tour in the second city, for fans of theatre or stage plays

Wicked will be coming to Birmingham in 2024, it has recently been announced. A run of shows has been scheduled at the Birmingham Hippodrome from March 5, 2024, to April 7, 2024.

The award winning musical will embark on an enormous tour of the UK and Ireland from late 2023 to early 2025. They will be performing in other cities such as Liverpool, Manchester and Cardiff.

Based on Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, the musical explores the life of the Wicked Witch of the West before the events of the Wizard of Oz.

Casting for the show has yet to be finalised. However, there is expected to be no less than 82 people working on the show, with an additional 20 crew members in each city.

Wicked’s UK and Ireland executive producer, Michael McCabe, said: "We’re delighted to be embarking on this third tour of the UK and Ireland and taking Wicked back to ten incredible theatres in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland where sold-out audiences previously greeted us so ecstatically.

"We’re excited to have this opportunity to share once again the spectacle, magic and emotion that has created unforgettable memories for audiences everywhere."

How to get tickets to see Wicked in Birmingham

Tickets to see Wicked live in Birmingham will not go on sale until spring 2023. A specific time and date for when they will be available has yet to be specified. When they become available, they can be purchased on the Birmingham Hippodrome website.
