Whether you love or loathe Valentine’s Day there’s no denying Brum is always buzzing when it comes to this romantic time of year.

While there’s a plethora of set menus and offers to woo dating diners, for many a more alternative approach to celebrating all things love is needed.

If you’re looking to enjoy a romantic evening with a twist with your significant other, or you fancy doing something a little out of the ordinary with a group of friends, there are plenty of fun events happening across Birmingham in February.

Casablanca With Wine - Crescent Theatre, Brindleyplace

If you’re a fan of romantic films and wine, this tasting event on Sunday February  12 could be the ideal date night. Join The Wine Events Company for an evening of classic cinema, fun trivia and delicious paired wines. Galentine’s Bottomless Brunch – The Flapper, City Centre

Celebrating loving your friends this year? This iconic pub is hosting a bottomless brunch on Saturday 11^th February. The two-hour session includes a brunch dish of your choice plus unlimited beers, mimosas, Prosecco and house cocktails, with an all-diva led soundtrack. Drink & Draw – The Church Inn, Jewellery Quarter

To celebrate Galentine’s, this Jewellery Quarter pub is hosting a drink and draw event with local artist Flic Blades. Grab your friends and enjoy an expert led drawing class plus a few tipples. It takes place on Monday 13^th February and kicks off at 7pm. Tickets are £15 and includes a welcome cocktail and a glass of wine, plus all the art supplies you need. Valentine’s Rave – The Rainbow, Digbeth

One for the ravers among you, the One Love party at The Rainbow over Valentine’s weekend could be for you. Taking place on Saturday 11^th February, it kicks off at 9pm (running until 3am) and currently you can get two ‘love birds’ tickets for £14. Wine Tasting - Loki Wine, City Centre

One for the wine lovers, on Saturday 11^th February you can enjoy an expert-led tasting at the Great Western Arcade shop. Tickets are £35, it’s a lunchtime event and you’ll get to try a mixture of fizz, white and red wines. Take a look at the Loki Wine website for information and tickets.

Romantic Afternoon Tea - Kilo Ziro, Digbeth

On Tuesday 14^th February the zero-waste bar is hosting high tea with a romantic twist. Your delicious sweet and savoury treats will be paired with a one-off Valentine’s ‘Rescued & Foraged’ cocktail. Speed Dating – The Cocktail Club, City Centre

Single and ready to mingle? Meet like-minded singles face-to-face at this Valentine’s themed speed dating event at The Cocktail Club. This professionally hosted mixer is open to anyone aged 24-38 and takes place on Tuesday 14^th February. Lovers Lunch - Chapter, Edgbaston

Who says a Valentine’s meal needs to be in the evening?
