Hundreds of people visited Harborne for the biggest carnival in Birmingham today (June 25) just a day after Bournville’s Village Festival.

It was a day packed full of entertainment, live music and fun for the community to come out and socialise. Weather was good with no rain and gave people to enjoy the sun while taking part in activities, listening to music and tasting great food.

The event was held in support of charity Heart Research UK Midlands, and sponsored by HCA Healthcare UK and National Express West Midlands. There were fairground rides, arts and crafts, children’s activities, local community and charity stalls and much more.

Performances from Lucas D and the Groove Ghetto, Got2Sing Choir, Bhangra Smash Up and Dancers and Average White Horse Band as well as Vivid Soul, a seven-piece Birmingham-based function band kept people grooving through the day.

There were some road closures in place, including on Harborne High Street during the carnival, which are expected to clear up after the end of the festivities.
