Thousands of people in Birmingham are looking for things to do during the late May Bank Holidays, which is coming up soon.
We had an extra bank holiday in May thanks to the King’s Coronation, and for the long weekend from May 27 to 29 there’s more fun and activities taking place in the city. BirminghamWorld has curated a list of some free and some paid exciting events and attractions for you to take part in during the weekend.

5. Tea at Cadbury World, Bournville
You can enjoy a luxurious afternoon tea at Cadbury World with a day packed with chocolatey fun and a special tea and cake experience. Chose from a selection of delicious cakes including Victoria Sponge, Caramel cake (gf), or a choice of two delicious chocolate cakes (vg, df), as well as a selection of teas, hot chocolate, coffee and fruit juice all in a specially decorated area of Cadbury World. 6. Ikon gallery
Entry to Ikon is free. The gallery shows work by artists from around the world and a variety of media is represented, including sound, film, mixed media, photography, painting, sculpture and installation. It will be open from 11am to 5pm from Wednesday – Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays. Currently, they have an exhibit by one of Indonesia’s most important living artists - Melati Suryodarmo. Through live performances from the artist and “delegated works” performed by over 50 associated artists and community activists, the exhibition celebrates her dedication to pushing the boundaries of her own practice and building performance art networks. 7. Library of Birmingham
Located in Centenary Square, the Library of Birmingham is a massive structure that cannot be missed. It has two outdoor terraces with panoramic views of the city, a dedicated children’s library with a vast array of books to feed little imaginations, and a Shakespeare collection at the The Shakespeare Memorial Room.
