43-45 Meriden St, Birmingham B5 5LS; 4.7 stars out of 5 (116 reviews): This popular Irish bar has been praised by customers for its friendly staff and ‘great beers always on tap’.

The pub also has live music on every weekend encompassing a range of genres including jazz, soul, funk and folk - whatever your preference, Nortons has it covered.

37 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham B25 SN; 4.5 stars out of 5 (2,672 reviews): This specialist real ale pub in the heart of the city has earned high praise from customers for its ‘great atmosphere, large choice of real ales and ciders at reasonable prices’.

An evening at The Wellington is a great night out, and although they don’t serve food you’re more than welcome to bring your own or order a takeaway while enjoying one of the pub’s real ales.

Kingston Row, Cambrian Wharf, Birmingham B1 2NU; 4.6 stars out of 5 (1,191 reviews): As well as being one of the city’s primary music venues, this brilliant canal-side bar is a popular choice for drinkers due to its idyllic location and high-quality beer.

The venue only reopened its doors in July this summer after plans to turn it into flats were thwarted by the public’s Save The Flapper campaign, meaning one of the city’s most vibrant and exciting venues lives on.

As well as high praise for its varied range of beers, reviewers also raved about Tilt’s ‘high quality coffee’ and great customer service.

Customers also raved about the bar’s cocktails, craft beers and food. The Floodgate is a “really fun place to visit with friends, especially if you’re wanting to do something different,” as one customer said on Google.

Unit 12 The Burlington, Stephenson St, Birmingham B2 4BL; 4.8 stars out of five (417 reviews): This popular cocktail bar has been getting rave reviews from customers for its ‘great drinks, great music and amazing staff’.

Following their visit, one happy customer wrote: “Such a great night out, brilliant music, fabulous cocktails and a really safe environment!”
