Victoria Square became a sea of red, white and blue as thousands turned out to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

A host of fantastic performers kept the crowds entertained with street food and funfairs all included at the free event which is running each day through to Sunday evening.

A highlight on day one was the beacon lighting ceremony which took place across the UK.
