Dance music and broadcast legend Pete Tong has launched a remix competition to find the next superstar DJ who will join him on stage.

The winner will get to showcase their super talent during his Ibiza Classics UK tour - which is heading this way.

Dates are Aberdeen, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Brighton, Birmingham and London's O2. Full details below.

DJ, broadcaster and global dance music icon Pete will once again be joined by long time collaborator Jules Buckley and The Essential Orchestra and a host of special guest vocalists and DJs in a brand-new live show full of stunning reimagines of timeless classic house tracks.

He recently released his new single, Release Me, from The Ibiza Classics series, featuring vocals from Poppy Baskcomb with co-production from Paul Harris and orchestral arrangement by Jules Buckley.

To celebrate this new release, Pete Tong’s DJ Academy has launched the exclusive competition offering the chance for one skilled student to open with Pete at the acclaimed Ibiza Classics show at London’s The O2 on December 13.

DJs and producer talent around the world will be tasked with remixing Release Me. The winning remix will be officially released on Ministry of Sound, along with the opportunity to support Pete Tong himself with a set at the Ibiza Classics show.

This competition is not only reserved to the students of Pete Tong’s online DJ Academy, but is open to one non-academy student who will also receive a scholarship to the academy.

Speaking on the upcoming tour and DJ X-Factor opportunity Pete said: "The Ibiza Classics UK tour is about giving dance music fans of all ages a very special experience.

“The remix competition is an incredible opportunity for one lucky individual to showcase their DJ skills and open with me at London’s O2 arena in December.

“I’ve been championing new artists, producers and DJ’s my whole career, so this is an extension of that mission and a chance to inspire the next generation of talent. I look forward to finding the next DJ pioneer to continue the legacy.”

Ibiza Classics has firmly cemented itself as part of the live music calendar becoming the world's most iconic orchestral electronic music event.

Celebrating the legacy of dance music, it combines unique orchestration with unparalleled electronic production, where ravers rejoice at what is set to be the party of the year, reminiscent of the White Isle and its musical history.

The legendary Sonique, Ali Love, Clemintine Douglas and MYSDIGGI will be appearing on all dates with Jazzy and MNEK on some shows. Special guest DJ’s joining them on selected dates will be Hayley Zalassi, Van Damn, Andy Baxter, Lucas Alexander, Constanza Pucheta, Phil Gifford and the winner of Pete Tong’s DJ Academy competition.
