Musicians from bands such as Funeral for a Friend, Holding Absence, The Blackout, and Caskets will join the performance, creating a powerful tribute to the late Chester Bennington, Linkin Park’s lead singer. Bennington tragically took his own life in July 2017.

The event is named after Linkin Park’s One More Light tour, which marked Bennington’s final performance. Linkin Park, known for hits like “In the End” and “Faint,” was formed in 1996 and rose to prominence in the early 2000s. The band has sold over 70 million albums and won two Grammy Awards.

The 1,000 Lights event not only honours Bennington’s legacy but also supports the rock and alternative music community by raising money for free counselling and other mental health services.
