The first event of the games is due to be Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls which will get underway at Victoria Park in Leamington Spa at 8.30am on 29 July.

The closing ceremony will begin at 8pm on Monday, 8 August and finish at approximately 10pm.

Hide AdAre there any new sports at the 2022 Commonwealth Games?
Many of the sports at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham are sports that have been a regular feature of the games over the years.
All sports that will be played in Birmingham were played at the last games which were held on the Gold Coast in Australia back in 2018, except one.
T20 Cricket, the fastest and most exciting international format of the sport, will be making its Commonwealth Games debut.

Hide AdThe T20 Cricket tournament will be played by women’s sides, with eight nations taking part.
This is Australia, Barbados, India, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Pakistan.
The teams will be split into two groups of four, with each team playing three group games. The top two from each group will go into the semi finals.

Hide AdThe winner of the two will go into the final, with the winner receiving the gold medal and runners up picking up the silver.
The two losing semi-finalists will play each other in a bronze medal match, and all matches will be played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
