Monday you’re in a daze, recovering from the weekend. Tuesday you’re on it - firing ahead, getting to grips with all those tasks.

But by Wednesday, you’re simply stuck in the middle. Those chilled weekend vibes from two days ago have disappeared, and it’s like - just so long till Friday comes around again.

But fear not! Help is at hand right here in Birmingham.

Those playful folks at Albert’s Schloss pleasure palace in Paradise have invented a special hump day treat so you never need to feel so forlorn again!

It’s called the Baby Grand Slam - a live jukebox - featuring duelling pianos with a freestyle twist inspired by the legendary parties of New York and Birmingham’s twin city Chicago.

We can especially recommend the cauliflower cheese krokette and burrata to start. The crispy krokettes crackled with flavour with a tangy filling that really packed a punch. Our burrata with its low and slow tomatoes and frankfurt herb sauce was delightfully accompanied by a flavoursome pretzeltini.

The Lamb Kofta kebabs were a truly special treat. So fresh, so tasty with the softest, most glorious flat bread.

Letting Wednesday wash over us, my pal and I, opted for the baked alaska dessert which came with live fire, lit before our very eyes, and  Raspberry, chocolate, vanilla, meringue. It was fabulous.

Cocktail classics include dark cherry boulvardier, brandy alexander and apple strudel.

There’s a sparkling choice of spritz including rhubarb + fig and lillet spritz. On our wild Wednesday night out, I opted for elderflower and wild raspberry spritz was fantastically sharp not sweet - who needs sweet!?

Well, my friend did, as it happens! She went for the strawberry spritz and said it was a bit sweet, but she highly recommended it!
