Great Birmingham Run 2023: See the full routes for half marathon and 10k race

Two routes will be run by participants in the 2023 Great Birmingham Run- here are all the details you need to know

The 2023 Great Birmingham Run is coming around fast, and the streets of the city will be taken over by thousands of runners. The event is one of the biggest in Birmingham’s social calendar.

The event in 2023 takes place on Sunday May 7. There will be two types of race taking place on the day.

Some participants will be running the half marathon route, whilst others will take part in the shorter 10k event. For both, details of the route have been announced.

Route for the 10k event at Great Birmingham Run 2023

There will be a brand new route for the event this year. Starting on Broad Street at Centenary Square, runners for the 10k will head for the city’s world-famous Jewellery Quarter, passing the Chamberlain Clock at Warstone Lane and Vyse Street, beautiful St Paul’s Square and a city-centre route that features the Mailbox, Grand Central at New Street station, St Martin’s Church, Southside and Digbeth.

Route for the half marathon at Great Birmingham Run 2023

The route for the half marathon event will be the same as the 10k up until Pershore Road. participants will then head out of the city centre until they reach Selly Park. This will be at eight miles and will then have a return route that takes in Cannon Hill Park and Edgbaston Stadium.

Where is the finish line for the Great Birmingham Run 2023?

Like with much of the route, the finish line for participants of both the 10k and half marathon will be at the same place. This will be a grandstand finish at the Smithfield site near Bullring; home to Commonwealth Games beach volleyball and basketball.
