For us, Disney On Ice marks the start of the wintery, festive months. We go every year and without fail we leave with that magical glow that only our favourite characters spinning around on ice can bring.

Hide AdBirmingham hosts some amazing productions and Disney On Ice is just one of those extravaganzas. We’ve launched our #Loveyour campaign to celebrate everything brilliant about our city - and for me, having such amazing arenas and theatres is at the heart of Brum’s creativity.
This is what Disney On Ice does best. Yes, some of the tickets aren’t the cheapest - but if your like us we get organised, put a bit of money aside earlier on in the year and get it booked in as one of our must visit family outings.
The performance is a treat from start to finish, whisking audiences through beloved Disney classics with an imaginative "road trip" concept.
From “Aladdin” and “Toy Story” to “Frozen” and “The Lion King,” each scene is meticulously crafted, with skaters expertly embodying their characters while gliding through iconic Disney settings.

The lighting, sound, and intricate costumes truly elevate the experience, creating an immersive atmosphere that captivates both kids and adults alike. Each segment had its own unique charm, and the transitions between stories were smooth, keeping the energy high and the audience engaged.
For me, the pure joy is seeing my children’s wonder and amazement. “Mummy, look it’s Elsa!”, were the words of my three-year-old shouting and jumping on the spot as her absolute favourite characters span onto the ice.
There’s a roadtrip van, bikes on ice, air gymnastics, flying characters, fire, flips and much more.
There’s even a special clip from Will Smith, who pops up as the Genie in Aladdin.

A standout moment was Mickey and Minnie leading the journey, making frequent appearances throughout and keeping the crowd entertained with fun, interactive elements.
And of course, every child is dressed up - my two girls had their obligatory princess outfits on with glowing sticks and candy floss thrown in for good measure.
The arena setup allowed for great visibility from most seats, though closer seating does make a difference in capturing the performers’ expressions and details in the choreography.
But as I’ve mentioned, some of the tickets aren’t the cheapest - so if you want to sit closer, be prepared to pay more.

Don’t do what we did though and turn up at Resorts World instead of the Utilita - 2023’s show for 100 years of Wonder was at Resorts World and *someone* may have forgotten to check the tickets before we set out. (Oops, yes that was me!)
