Christmas at Cathedral Square: 10 photos of the dazzling opening day in Birmingham City Centre

Birmingham City Centre is truly ready to welcomeChristmas this year with both the big markets open and running

Christmas at Cathedral Square has arrived and there is no good reason to miss it. From live music and rides to hot and cold food - the Christmas market has everything. Pigeon Park glittered with lights on opening night (November 16) and we caught the moment the lights came on.

Pigeon in the Park is back this year as well and you can find some shelter under it on cold and wet night. The temporary pub has a roof-top standing space as well and the view from the top is impeccable.

You can buy trinkets and stocking fillers at the market or just sit and listen to music after a long working day. The ideal location (opposite Colmore Row) makes it easily accessible as well.

Birmingham City Centre is truly open to welcoming Christmas this year now both the big markets are open and running.

If you were not able to catch the opening night of the Christmas market at Cathedral Square, don’t worry as it will be on until December 18.

In the meantime, here are some photos from the night to prepare you for what is in store.
