Channel 4 Married at First Sight UK: who is Birmingham single Duka - how to watch and full line-up

The new series of E4’s ‘Married at First Sight’ is coming later this year, and a list of 16 singletons has been announced.

Among the names is Birmingham based Duka, who will be looking to find his perfect match in what will be the seventh series of the show.

A spokesperson for E4 said: “Following a record-breaking run last Autumn, Married at First Sight UK is heading back down the aisle for a brand new, bigger and bolder series.

“The new series will once again follow a fresh batch of singles, whose search for love and a happy-ever-after will lead them to saying “I do” to a complete stranger, whom they’ll meet for the first time on their wedding day.

“With a longer run (30 episodes), this series promises to be bigger and more dramatic than ever before!”

What is Married at First Sight UK?

Married at First Sight is seen as a bold social experiment where single people, matched by experts, marry total strangers, who they meet for the very first time on their wedding day.

The show has had six series and first aired in 2015.

In the same year, an Australian version of the show began and has since had nine series.

Who is Duka?

Duka has lived in the UK since he was 10 years old, when his family fled the former Yugoslavia to escape conflict. He arrived not speaking a word of English and was bullied because of it.

His struggles growing up had a definitive role in shaping the man he’s become; he finds it difficult to let people in and puts up his guard when people start to get close emotionally.

Nowadays Duka’s a man about town. He says women fall at his feet, but they’re never the right girl. He finds that the girls he fancies are often superficial and he gets bored of them easily.

What kind of person is Duka looking for?

Duka loves art and poetry and wants to find an “Instagram girl” that loves looking after herself, but can also have a deep conversation about world issues.

When does Married at First Sight air?

The 2022 series of Married at First Sight comes to E4 has yet to be given an official start date, however the fact that the lineup has been announced suggests that it could return to TV soon.

For an indication, the 2021 series started at the beginning of October - so we may be set for a similar start date this year.

Who are the experts in this series?

Returning to bring their expertise to the matching process will be Mel Schilling, Paul C. Brunson and Charlene Douglas.
